Over time the London Stock Exchange has remained with the AAM product and as the development of products and IT infrastructures progressed, the site requirements grew. To this end American Auto-Matrix has always been in the forefront of technological advancements and had available an area controller that could be connected to their advancing networks; formally working with IPX Ethernet and progressing to IP as this medium became a priority within building IT networks. As the Exchange had many satellite buildings as well as the main headquarters in the city of London, it was possible through the installed infrastructure to have a system in place that could monitor, control, log and receive data and alarms from any of these locations. When the London Stock Exchange moved from their original site in the City to the new Paternoster Sq headquarters in 2004, American Auto-Matrix was again used as the choice of controls. The current installation has in place a network of outstations, area controllers and graphics utilised to perform the automatic controls of the resident HVAC system. This includes for VAV, FCU, Chiller’s, Air Handling and critical alarm monitoring. Customised programs are in place to schedule building electrical loads during power outage’s and when generator’s are in service. Custom programs also control a regular valve exercise each day to ensure regular flow through all of the chilled water circuits throughout the building. The system comprising of a number of SageMax area controllers, Auto-Pilot Graphics and approximately 500 outstations completes an all encompassing system with all the contained information readily available to the onsite facilities management team and stock exchange employees through terminals connected to the site wide IT infrastructures. |
